RasterCat Labs
Small studio, finished games, and the spec-first way we build them.
A small game studio with two jobs: build good games, and teach the craft of building them.
We build finished, careful games — a vertical shoot-'em-up, a quiet 3D chess game, more on the way. And we teach how: an AI spec-driven development course where you learn to describe software precisely enough that an AI agent can build it right, and to direct those tools with judgment and taste.
How we work
The method we teach is the method our games are built with. Every game starts as a specification — behavior, constants, constraints — and is built against it, tested against it, and reviewed against it. Nothing ships on a hunch. The reference builds, the reviews, the ambiguity registers we point students to are real artifacts from real projects, not classroom toys.
We believe software should be made with care and then get out of the way: good to use, honest about what it is, and entirely yours once it's on your machine.
